Functieomschrijving

At Wispex, everything revolves around precision, speed, and smart IT solutions that keep the international supply chain running. That’s why we’re seeking a Product Owner Internal Products who can elevate our in-house systems to the next level. In this central role, you connect business and technology, uncover true underlying challenges, and translate them into products that support our international growth. Ready to work in a dynamic environment where your decisions directly impact thousands of daily transport movements? We’d love to meet you.

About Wispex

Founded in 1995 in Pijnacker, Wispex is a family business specialising in customs services for a wide range of clients, including carriers and logistics service providers. As a customs agent, we ensure that clearance and transit documents are processed accurately and on time. With a dedicated team of customs specialists and support staff, we efficiently handle customs and VAT declarations for clients in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and the United Kingdom. As an active member of Fenex, we stay updated on the latest customs developments.

Our Company Culture

Although we are not physically involved in the logistics process, we understand how crucial our services are within the supply chain. Our '24/7 mentality' ensures that our clients' transports run smoothly day and night. Our rapidly growing client base ranges from small to large national and international logistics service providers, importers, and exporters. You will play a key role within this client group and our organisation. As our client base grows, so does our organisation, providing plenty of room for your own ideas and input.

Your role as Product Owner Internal Products

In this role, you take full ownership of the value creation cycle for our in-house developed products within our Scrum process. You act as the key link between the product and the organization by gathering feedback, digging deep to uncover root causes, and translating insights into high-quality product solutions. You continuously measure, monitor, and report on outcomes to drive learning and improvement across both operations and development. As we expand rapidly across multiple countries and onboard more internal users, we have ambitious plans to enhance and modernize our products to support further growth and strengthen our operational performance.

What will your daily tasks look like?

  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Maximize product value by setting priorities and managing the product backlog.

  • Translate customer and business needs into concrete user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

  • Collaborate closely with the development team and participate in agile ceremonies.

  • Promote and uphold agile principles and a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and ensure transparent, consistent communication.

  • Safeguard the functional quality of the product and review delivered features against requirements.

  • Monitor KPIs, analyze results, and adjust the backlog and product strategy accordingly.

  • Make decisions regarding scope, prioritization, and timing of product developments.

  • Identify trends and opportunities, driving innovation and future-oriented product growth.

What do you bring?

  • 2 – 5 years of relevant work experience

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Strong focus on prioritizing and maximizing product value

  • Analytical mindset, able to identify root causes behind complex issues

  • Team player who collaborates closely with developers and takes ownership

  • Strong command of English (Dutch is a plus)

  • Experience or affinity with logistics or customs is beneficial, not required

  • 25 vacation days on a full-time basis

  • Attractive secondary benefits (bike plan, travel allowance, and a premium-free pension scheme)
